DTF transfers on hoodies and sweatshirts
DTF (direct-to-film) handles full-color art with no screens and no color limit. Battle Born Clothing has the transfers printed by DTF Tribe in Carson City, NV and presses them in our own shop. Quoted per job.
When DTF beats screen print
- Under 48 pieces with a multi-color design
- Photographic or gradient art
- Many different names or numbers in one order
- Small left-chest logos on a run of mixed garment colors
When it does not
- 96+ pieces of a one- or two-color design: screen print is cheaper
- Pigment-dyed and garment-dyed fleece where a soft hand matters: use water-based print
- Uniform-grade logos that will be washed hundreds of times: use embroidery
What we need
A PNG at 300 dpi with a transparent background, at actual print size. Vector is fine too. Tell us the garment colors so we can set the white underbase. We press every transfer on our own equipment and check adhesion before shipping. We do not print DTF in-house. Transfers come from DTF Tribe; pressing, proofing and quality control are ours.

Quoted per job. Price depends on the print size and quantity. Send the art and we will price it, usually the same business day.
How does DTF wash?
Well, when pressed correctly. Wash inside out in cold water and skip high heat in the dryer for the longest life.
